Mary grew up in the Western isles with her family and gets a lot of her inspiration from that, using suggesting mapping, measuring, music, grid references, and tide tables in her work
Her work to me give off a carm and relaxing feeling with lots the blues and silver tones and gives a view of the sea in a new light, you can see just from looking at her work that the western isles have played a big part in her art.
