Aleksander Porecki paper Portfolio
Aleksander porecki
Animation at Edinburgh and Dundee
The opening piece is of his portfolio was of animation, having your first piece on what your applying for helps set the theme of your portfolio.
The layout of the folio starts with animation and then on to photography, observational drawings, print making and then back to animations. He showed his pieces one after another in categories.
Most portfolios are laid out showing a black-n-white piece of work followed by a coloured piece but his weren't in and order like this. The most colourful thing he had in his Portfolio was his animations which made them stand out from all the other pieces he'd shown.
Most of his work is on white boards apart from is drawings, which are loos in the folder. The size of his work is varied with the smaller pieces being displayed as a group of four on one board, having a mixture of sizes displayed beside each other as more pleasing to the eye then having pieces all the same size. His Portfolio shows a mixture of techniques from photography, printmaking, drawing, painting, digital animation and still life drawings, as this is a art students portfolios and not one of an established artist it's important to show what skills and techniques you have.
From looking at his Portfolio you get a feeling for where his strength lies, it's clear that animation is what he was applying for. Along side his Portfolio he showed two of his best sketchbooks, having books to show how you work is helpful and can give the interviews an idea of your work style.
