Final Photography, My World My View
The idea for my final photographs is to show the rural and urban landscape of the Borders. I chose this because the brief was My World, My View. So I wanted to capture the bleak landscape that hasn't changed since the time of the Border Reivers ,contrasting with the modern day intrusion of roads, farming, communication, and power systems. I wanted to try and show the Borders as almost a silhouette by taking the photos at dawn and dusk, I did this to keep the theme of change, transition between day and night, past and present, rural and urban. I took the photos as long landscapes and tried to maintain equal proportions of sky to land. I also enhanced the colour of the skies by adding more pinks and purple tones to the image. To complete my photographs I printed them on A3 acetate. This gives the photographs a feel of transition and allows the viewer to look through the landscape. Apart from changing the colour tones of the pictures, I also edited them by changing the brightness, exposure, sharpness, contrast, and removed distracting elements like phone lines with photoshop.
