First thoughts
My first thought of her work was how edgy it felt. She used very little colour.
Paulina's portfolio had a strong sense of photography and life drawing. My first impressions of her work, was how much she focused on the human body. Most of her pieces were in black-and-white either because they were drawings or because there are photos taken in a photography room with a black background. The contents of her portfolio is like a lot of student portfolios, it has a range of pieces in different sizes and techniques. The way she'd laid out her portfolio was more interesting, having lots of large photos and then a small piece made you really stop and look at the piece which was in front of you. As there wasn't much colour in her portfolio the pieces were laid out from dark to light. Something I noticed about her portfolio was that not all of the pieces were finished, she still had some drawings which were half done. She also showed variations of the same piece on the one board.
CONCLUSION
I felt like there was an equal balance between her photography and her life drawings as these were the two categories in which she was applying for university. I think her portfolio gives a good sense of what she's achieved and what she could achieve.
