playing with lights

I've revisited drawing with lights,  I tried this with the lights on the motorway coming back from Glasgow at night.   I'm wanting to do this again but with lights I can control and with people as my subjects.

I've used coloured lights because they give a stronger effect and have a modern look where white lights have a ghost like feel to them.   I used a long shutter and blue and purple lights which were placed on ether side of her. The idea was to get movement and double images, I did this by having Maddy stand still for five seconds and move about for the remming time, this give me and more solid image with fainter images of her.

The ones I did with white lights have more of a darker feel to them like they are of someone that's tormented or of paranormal activities. The photos of Maddy with the white light showed up a lot clearer and more focused.

I used the torch on my phone like a pen to draw in the air and a long shutter to capture the light leaving a image on the photo. I tried different ideas with the light such as writing, high lighting parts on the body and drawing outfits.  It was hard to write with the light because the person had to do it in reverse, a lot of the words came out on top of each other and aren't very easy to read. I think the photos with the drawings work well because they were done with two people instead of one,  I had one person standing still and the other drawing images around them. I want to do this again outside at night where I can use more people and have more space to work in.
